I don't really see where there's much 'hype' about raw diets. If anything, most of the general public is still opposed to them. People much prefer the convenience of a kibble even if it is nowhere near similar to what they would've eaten in the wild.
You may have won the health lottery with your cats, but, obviously a more similar to natural diet would be better then Purina One which is primarily corn. Obligate carnivore means wouldn't eat anything but prey animals, so grain has no place in a cat's diet. Yet, some cats do manage to do better then survive on it.
I don't do organic raw as that's a bit out of my price range, but, I do make my own raw food which costs me about $60 a month to feed 5 cats and three medium sized dogs. I switched foods after I got a couple special needs cats. They were surrendered because of urinary tract issues, but, my husband fell in love with them at the rescue we volunteered at, so they came home with us. I switched to raw because of them. They were on a decent dry kibble, but, had frequent flare-ups to the point where the previous owner didn't want to treat them anymore. Now, I've had them over two years on raw and haven't had a single issue with them. Obviously a huge improvement over the euthanasia option they were considering for them. They were 3 years old, so, not very old at all.
The cheap foods actually have an addictive additive in them called "animal digest" to fool cats into eating kibble. There's probably only a couple cats out there that would eat chicken scratch which is pretty much what grocery store foods are. But, they cover the corn in rendered gravy and then cats love it. If you have children, do you allow them to choose their diet based on flavor alone? How do you think that would go? Well, in most cases you'd have a child that lived on potato chips and ice cream. Same thing with your cats, the food that is good for them isn't as flavorful as it isn't covered in sodium and animal digest.
While your cats are healthy now, the strain on the kidneys will be evident eventually. Some cats do get lucky, but, I doubt that ALL of your cats will make it to 7 without needing some kind of special diet for urinary tract issues or kidney disease.
Why not research making your own raw diet? I find it's cheaper then canned and the money I've saved on vet bills alone has more then paid for it twice over. I haven't had a single emergency vet visit in two years and had 5 emergency visits with my cats the year before that.
You may be able to get away with the diet your feeding for now, but, hopefully if/when you do have a cat with a problem you'll switch to a more species appropriate food.
Basically, cats are obligate carnivores. Any diet that isn't meat/bone/organ is pretty much an inappropriate, unnatural diet. Just like humans though, some can handle more junk food then others.

Having worked and attended many trade shows in the past I would ask the organizers for information on who will exhibit and who has exhibited in previous years. Get a couple of names to contact and ask them for their opinions on the show. Shows are hard work and expensive, so do your homework.
