Keep offering the new foods- it can take quite a while for some children/babies to get used to an unfamiliar food.

As long as you know that the oatmeal and peas do not cause a reaction in your baby, you can add a taste of something new to it...a little bit of bananas mixed with oatmeal, etc. Just remember to only try one new food for a few days to a week, in order to watch for signs of any allergies- that way you can pinpoint the culprit easier.

How about giving her a toy or a spoon to play with while you are feeding her? That way, she will not be as aware that there is something different going towards her mouth. Or, if you have the patience and don't mind the mess, let her help feed herself. Maybe eating something new will be more interesting if she has a part in it? Or simply using a new spoon/dish?

Let her see how much the family enjoys the new foods too. If, for example, you are offering her carrots, make that a part of your meals too. "Look sweetie...carrots! mmm, we're eating carrots too! mmmm! Do you want to try a taste?"

 hope that helps! :)

Organic food is better for you whether you are pregnant or not :)

We switched to organic foods shortly before our oldest was born and I was surprised to find the fruit actually tasted better. Try it, I kid you not!

My biggest concerns that inspired us to switch were
- hormones and antibiotics in dairy products
- preservatives in meat

It is never to late to start your child on a healthy organic lifestyle. Gerber is fine for now, they are being bought out by nestle, which is known for making poor choices regarding health and their food. I currently use Gerber's organic cereal, and organic baby food right along with they similac organic formula. My daughter is 5 months and I have became aware of all the hormones, antibiotics, pesticides and so on that is in our food and I have decided to start with organic. My other two 5 and 3 yrs old have always had the regular non organic foods until now and they are healthy. I just want to ensure that since they aren't old enough to make healthy choices for them selves that I will make sure they get all the best foods.
Organic baby food is about 20-30 cents more than regular, but it is a personal choice to spend the extra money. I will be making most of my daughters baby food, but supplementing with the organic jarred stuff.

I don't think so. My friend says her baby can tell the difference b/w Earth's Best and other brands. However, I give my baby home-made baby food most of the time. But when I give her Gerber, she doesn't really indicate any difference in preference b/w Home-made and Gerber. So I doubt she'd detect the difference b/w Gerber and Organic Gerber.

I eat organic as much as possible (it is expensive) and I'm 27. :) We feed our son as naturally as possible, and always will. Really, it's more of a personal choice, but I would continue as long as you can. Chemicals aren't good for any of us. But I guess to answer your question, brain development is going strong for the first 3 years of life, so I would definately keep it up that long.
