The road to organization is sometimes a long one, especially if you want to start organizing an area that has been growing and spreading for a while! If you can start at the beginning, by that I mean, before things get out of hand, get organized from the get-go. The sooner you start, the less time you spend later looking for things or organizing a bigger mess.
For example: If you start a new business and want an organized and efficient office, start with:
- getting help from a friend/family member
- read e-books/books on organizing
- visit websites
- call a professional organizer
First of all, set up a plan to utilize every drawer, table, shelf and container with the intention of systematizing everything you need. In order to get your hands on what you need when you need it and know its location, you need a organization. This is where you can enlist the help of someone who is organized or has done this before. You will save time and money in the future. You can do this either before you start the business or during the first month of your doors being open / online presence. Having an adequate workspace is essential to staying organized
If you’re way past the beginning, find a friend or family member that already has an organized office and ask them to assist you or give pointers on how to do what they did. If that’s not available or you still can’t get a handle on it, the next best thing is to call a professional organizer.
Buy containers, files, label maker, drawer dividers, shelving, and bookcases. If you have a home office, the closet can be the designated office supplies area. Add some extra shelving to maximize all the square footage of the closet and store software, pads, pens and books etc inside. You can get some white melamine shelving from Lowes or Home Depot and sometimes they will even cut it to size for you! You will be amazed at the amount of real estate you have inside the top of your closets. Most home builders give you one shelf (maybe two if you’re lucky) and one rod to hold your clothes. Look above the shelf over the rod and see how much space you have, if there’s room, add another shelf! Depending on the size of the closet, say you have a 6ft wide closet, you can conceivably add 4, 6ft long shelves to that area, that’s another 24 sq ft of storage space you’ve just added that you can now utilize efficiently.
You can use the same principles whether you’re moving into a new home or need to reorganize your current place of residence. You will find space in unexpected places! Set up your systems in the beginning and avoid the hassle and the stress later!
Clearing the clutter and irrelevant items is a good start. This creates space and you might even find something you’ve been looking for and for one of my clients, that was a large bag full of forgotten money!

Help answer the question about organic
Can organic products/ingredients be sold under a normal label? For instance, we all know that you cannot label something as "organic" without it being certified. My question is this…can a product have a normal line and an organic line that both conisist of organic ingredients? More specifically, can normal PAM contain organic ingredients without being labeled as organic? The purpose of doing so would be to steer customers towards the SAME product that has the organic label for a few more dollars.

My age old tried and true with positive results is to tell you
"Plan your Work and Work Your Plan"
Make a list in order of necessity and work right down the list until it's finished.
Good Luck been there done that.
Keep a large box and when in doubt where an item will go, put it in the box and return when all else is complete.
I like those shoe boxes/Cubbies! My wife and I have 5 kids so there are 7 of us! We each have at least 3 pairs of shoes…. the girls have many more…. when we were just setting them by the door it was crazy!
For the mail I like a box that stands up with different openings to put the newly acquired mail and the bills and then the outgoing mail. It works nice.
Labeling things works REALLY well, especially when the kids are learning to read. Trust me, husbands DON'T know where things are supposed to go LOL! With labels they really will try and put things in the right place and it cuts down on arguments as to who lost what LOL! I found that going to Microsoft Word, typing up some fancy names for stuff and labeling worked good.
SHELVES, SHELVES AND MORE SHELVES! We have a lot of books, DVD's, VHS tapes etc. The more shelves we have, the neater things look.
An extra shed with labeled tote boxes works nice. We have holiday boxes, summer clothes boxes, winter clothes boxes, etc. Ya gotta get that stuff out of the house.
I find that putting recipes on the computer helps. Then when you need that recipe just print it off and toss it when you're done. Then you don't have a box of recipes laying around. They always seem to get dirty and greasy anyways.
For the kids, we went to the Walmart and bought a lot of clear plastic drawers. We have labels on each drawer such as, color crayons, coloring books, animals, etc. It saves the toy boxes from getting way too cluttered. The kids can find which toys they want right away and they know where to put their stuff away.
Hope that helps.
I use a planner. Every day has space to write, and a week goes across two pages. You can find these at any bookstore. I also color-code for each class, and when assignments are due (if more than a day later) or when I have a test/quiz, I write those in the color for that class on the day when it happens. Whenever I get a new assignment, I write that assignment down on the day that I get it, and write down (on the day that it is due) that the assignment is due. If it is a project, I write down which component I will complete on the days I intend to complete it. I also use my planner to remind me of to-do lists and any out-of-the-ordinary things that are occurring which I need to remember.
I am a little anal about lists and colors, so you don't have to take it as far as I have, but in general, I have found that a planner is a good way to make sure that I don't forget anything. I look at it every day, so I am always aware of what assignments I have to complete as well as when each one is due. It has helped me to manage my time much better than when I didn't use one.
Check out Fly Lady — lots of great tips, on things like cleaning, decluttering. I signed up for their newsletter and was getting some good advice. I'm no longer signed up, but I do still think they're good.
Buy some baskets & start organizing things that are lying around. Start at the front door & work your way towards the back & you should have it in better shape within 6 months. Buy a paper shredder for your unwanted mail & papers & keep it near the place where you open & sort your mail & pay your bills! Get in the habit of taking the trash out on a daily basis & buy sponges for the kitchen in bulk packages. Never use them for more than 2 weeks to avoid the nasty smells & keep a can of comet cleanser under every sink to clean the sink & the scrubber sponges!

Start with one room or even one area of a room and get it neat and clean. Don't allow anything that doesn't belong there back into that area. Get 3 boxes to carry with you as you clean each area. One for items that may need to be discarded, one for items that can be donated and one for items that belong somewhere else in your home. As time permits, move to other areas doing the same thing, until you have the entire home in order. Devoting even a few minutes each day to doing this will eventually get your entire home in order.
Give each child a space for his or her toys. Any items not returned to that area before going to bed is taken away for a predetermined length of time. If they have too many toys, only allow a certain number to be available to them and store the rest in a tote or box. Switch items every couple of weeks. There will be less clutter and they will have renewed interest in the toys that have been unavailable for awhile.
Since you are involved in Scouting, take a look at the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Use those points to encourage your children to participate in keeping their home neat and clean.
That pertains to Boy Scouts. I am not familiar with Girl Scouting but suspect they have similar standards which could be used.
Assign your children chores which they are responsible for. Make a chart to help them keep track of their duties. Children need to feel they are participating members of the family unit.
It is not necessary for your home to be spotless but it does need to be clean enough to be healthy and orderly enough to be enjoyable. Make each child responsible for cleaning up after himself or herself within the limits of their age.
Begin now to teach your children that the family must function as a unit, with each person doing their part and with RESPECT for EACH person as an individual. This means that YOU are a person with rights and interests of your own and deserve the time and environment to enjoy those interests as well as being their mother. This is important not only for your own well being but for theirs as they become adults.
Depending on the age of your children, they can be taught to clean up spills, reducing overall mopping. Even young children can learn to sweep and slightly older children can use a vacuum cleaner.
Divide and conquer the chores of maintaining your home!
Unite as a family to maintain a pleasing environment in your home!
If your children are accustomed to clutter and having you do all the housework, this may take some time to institute. Be patient and be consistent and persistent!
eeh LOL you own
Check out flylady.net This website changed my life. Make a list one room at a time and what needs to be done in each room and what you need for each room. Don't try to think about it all it will overwhelm you to the point of procrastination. Baby steps.

She sends out daily emails and reminders telling you which steps and routines to follow to keep an uncluttered home. She also has a lot of great information and motivators on how to get organized and stay that way.
The most important thing I've learned is to do what you can, when you can. Divide the tasks up into smaller more manageable jobs and chunks of time. It won't seem so overwhelming that way. It is better to take small steps than to do nothing at all.
